Dear Breton Downs 4th and 5th Grade Choir Parents and Families,

 

Each year, the East Grand Rapids school choirs collaborate to put on the Melodies In March Concert. This annual event showcases our singers in grades 4-12. In one evening, the concert provides an overview of the entire vocal music program, including the finale – which features nearly 400 students singing together. This year, Melodies in March will be on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at 7:00 pm. Call time for choir members will be at 6:45 pm. They are to be dressed ready to perform in their riser spot by 6:50 pm. Concert starts at 7:00 pm. Please keep any of their outerwear with you at your seat. The event will be held at East Grand Rapids High School in the Performing Arts Center.

 

Breton Downs choir members have been working hard to learn three songs that they will sing with Lakeside and Wealthy choir members. They will also be learning a song in Swahili that they will be performing with all EGR school choir members for the finale. For the event, all students will need to dress in concert attire, which consists of dress shirts or blouses, dress pants, or dresses.

 

On Wednesday, March 22 in the morning, Breton Downs choir members will take a bus and travel to the high school to rehearse with the other elementary choirs and the middle and high school choirs. We are in need of a few parent chaperones who are willing to meet us at Breton Downs and ride the bus with us to the high school. We will also need you to stay in the auditorium with us to also help with transitioning and extra support. We will leave Breton Downs at 8:25 a.m. and arrive back at Breton Downs around 10:45 a.m. If you are interested in being a chaperone, please email me at hkline@egrps.org.
