MRS. KLINE'S MUSIC CLASSROOM
Kindergarten
In Kindergarten, we move with "flow" as we learn new songs in various tonalities and meters. Props such as scarves, bean bags, and egg shakers help us to move our bodies as we sing and listen. Throughout the school year, your student will learn how to play their first musical instruments such as the jingle bells, tambourine, hand drum, and glockenspiel. In music class, your child will learn to sing with their class and as an individual.
We will also be preparing repertoire for school assemblies and programs. You will find links to these songs below. I strongly encourage students to practice at home and your support is much appreciated.
HOLIDAY PROGRAM
Kindergarten and First Grade will be performing two songs at the Holiday Program:
1. Snowflake, Snowflake
2. Snowman, Where'd You Go?
In addition, all students will be singing Rock N' Roll Snowman.
Snowflake, Snowflake
In music class, we discussed how we are all different and unique, just like snowflakes!
This song is calm and peaceful, like snowflakes softly falling in the quiet of the morning.
When your child is practicing, please listen for a clear singing voice. Encourage them to take the same calm approach to singing.
Snowman, Where'd You Go?
What a mystery! The snowman was just there... and now he's gone. Have your child listen to the "clues" to his disappearance – a sunny day and a carrot on the ground. This song is quite tricky because of how many words there are. Please help your child with the lyrics!
We will be learning movements to the lyrics in class.
Rock N' Roll Snowman
All students will be singing this rockin' song about a snowman at the end of the program.
Look for this Rock N' Roll Snowman at the Holiday Program on December 16th!
